The country of Japan is raising its offer to relocate families outside of Tokyo to one million yen per child.

The government of Japan is willing to pay families with children thousands of dollars in an effort to disperse

.....its younger inhabitants more fairly across the nation as the country's population ages quickly.

Announcing last week that it will increase the payout to 1 million yen ($7,660) per child starting in April, the Japanese government

......has promised to increase the amount it offers families to relocate outside of the Greater Tokyo area.

The incentive, which was introduced in 2019 and now pays out 300,000 yen ($2,300) per child, is meant to entice

....... families with children to relocate to areas with dropping birthrates and elderly populations.

According to the Japanese news agency Nikkei, movers will initially get 1 million yen per household if they satisfy

...... one of three requirements, but a couple with two children may receive up to 3 million yen for leaving Tokyo.

The family must meet one of three requirements in order for the payment to be made: they must be employed by a small or medium-sized firm

......in the region they are moving to, they must continue working remotely after they move, or they must create a business in the area they are going to.
