‘Pakistan zindabad’ slogans raised during BSP civic poll body campaign rally, local candidate Pappu Khan and aide detained

After the video of the aforementioned BSP campaign rally became popular on social media, Azamgarh police took notice........

According to Azamgarh SP Anurag Arya, the BSP candidate Pappu Khan, for whom the campaigning was taking place, and his associate Khursheed Ahmed,

.......who is accused of raising pro-Pakistani slogans, have been taken into custody by the Jahanaganj police.......

 .....and a case has been registered against them under pertinent sections of the IPC based on the video of the incident that went viral on social media.

Their cell phones have also been confiscated, and a forensic analysis of the viral video is being conducted.

The police are also looking into whether the required permit was requested for the campaign rally.......

.....because Section 144 is in effect in the region. If not, extra related IPC provisions would be included to the FIR, the Azamgarh SP said.

The claimed chants were allegedly said while numerous BSP leaders and supporters, including former Mubarakpur MLA Guddu Jamali, were canvassing in the area after a party meeting.
